OVERVIEW
Welcome to our NFL FLAG leagues, tailored for boys and girls from K through 8th grade and 9th Grade - 12th Grade (All Girls League)! This is a fantastic opportunity for young athletes to learn football fundamentals, stay active, and enjoy a ton of fun with friends. No prior experience is necessary—everyone is welcome to join the fun!

Location: Crocker Soccer Fields - 799 Moscow Street San Francisco, CA 94112
Football Stadium is located in the back of the school. Please park in the nearest parking lot and head to the football field
For Restrooms and water fountains, please ask staff on site for location

Divisions are subject to change. Per our safety protocol, players may play up only one division upon request, but may not play down a division.

PARTICIPANTS WILL RECEIVE:
Equipment will be set to distribute on week 1 or week 2 based on NFL Inventory availability.
ADDITIONAL ITEMS AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE:
These items will be available for purchase during Early and Regular registration and will not be available during late registration.

Team Assignments will be assigned through our NFL FLAG Portal by 1/6/25. Emails will go out to Parents and coaches from Email: [email protected] (Do not reply to this email). INTERESTED IN BECOMING A COACH?
As a coach, you’ll help lead practices and games, focusing on teaching skills, sportsmanship, and teamwork. We’ll provide you with resources like practice plans, a rule book, and support throughout the season.
The Team size is around 5-12 players. Practice and games are on the same day and location for a 2 hour session.

PLAYER REGISTRATION AGREEMENT AND WAIVER
Before registering your child for any of our events, leagues, camps, or tournaments with United Sports of America, DBA United Sports Flag Football League / United Sports, please read our Player Registration Agreement and Waiver. By registering, you agree to the terms outlined in this document, which includes information regarding participation permission, liability release, photography/video consent, and emergency medical treatment.

MEET AND GREET DETAILS
What to expect on the first day
Meet & Greet and Combine: The first day includes a meet and greet where teams and coaches meet, collect equipment (if available), go over basics and can conduct a practice. Coaches and Players will head directly to their assigned field location. Rosters and teams will also be posted at the booth for reference
- Equipment Distribution: If Equipment is available, it will be distributed during the Meet & Greet day by the coaches. If not available, it will be available week 2 and handed out during practice. Equipment will be set to distribute on week 1 or week 2 based on NFL Inventory availability
- Coaches will pick up their team’s equipment at the registration table prior and distribute it to the players either week 1 or week 2. Each player will be given their exact size of the jersey and shorts that were ordered and plus additional items purchased
- What to Wear: Please ensure your child comes to the meet and greet in active wear. Something they are comfortable exercising in. Cleats are recommended.
- Missing Items: If you have any missing items, questions or concerns about the equipment, please notify the staff AND email us at [email protected] so we can document, correct and reorder any equipment with speed, if needed.
- Ordered the Wrong size? Please notify the staff AND email us at [email protected] so we can document, correct and reorder any equipment with speed, if needed. There is an equipment charge of $40 to reorder equipment

MEDIA DAY
Media Day is our picture day where players and teams will take individual and group photos, creating lasting memories! Here’s what you need to know:
Dates: TBD
What to Wear: Players should arrive in their full NFL FLAG uniforms, including reversible jerseys and flags.
Timing: Photos will be taken during your team’s practice time and should take about 10 minutes.
Photos: Both individual and team photos will be taken, and all images will be available for free digital download within 2-3 weeks.
Makeup Photos: If you can’t make it on your scheduled day, please reach out to [email protected] to ask if a photographer will be onsite again.
Parents: We ask that parents line up to form a celebratory bridge for players to run through for their game entrance, adding a fun and exciting team moment for the kids
PLAYOFFS
Overview
Playoffs: All teams make playoffs. The schedule will be based on team rankings from the season games. Seeding will based on team rankings
Championships: Playoff results from the first game will determine which teams compete in the championship brackets.
Pre-K/K Divisions: Practices and games will continue during the playoffs and championship days.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
TEAMS
Do I have to live in the same city to participate in the league?
Absolutely not! While the league is based in that specific location, it’s open to everyone, regardless of where you live.
Is there an additional fee for non-residents?
No. The registration fee is the same for all participants, regardless of residence.
How many players are on each team?
Our target is 5-11 players per team for the best experience. However, teams may have slightly more or fewer players as needed.
How many players are on the field during a game?
All United Sports Flag games are played 5 vs 5
How many divisions does the league have?
We currently offer five divisions:
- Kindergarten - 1st Grade
- 2nd Grade - 3rd Grade
- 4th Grade - 5th Grade
- 6th Grade - 8th Grade
- All Girls Division (9th-12th Grade)
Can players play on the same team as a friend?
Yes! You can request a buddy or specific coach during registration, and we’ll do our best to accommodate and will confirm with the coach for roster capacity
Can teams from previous seasons stay together?
Absolutely! Returning teams can stay together as long as players meet the age and grade requirements for their division.
SEASON
When does the season start and end?
The season runs from January 12th, 2025, to March 16th, 2025.
How many games are in the season?
Each team plays 7 regular-season games, followed by playoffs and selected teams will enter the Super Bowl.
Can Parents or Guardians leave their child at practice or games?
We strongly encourage parents or guardians to stay during practices and games to support their child and be available in case of an emergency. However, if you need to step away, please ensure another responsible adult is present and aware that they are responsible for your child during that time. For younger players (Kindergarten - 1st Grade), a parent or guardian must remain onsite.
What happens if there’s bad weather?
In the event of severe weather, games may be rescheduled. We’ll notify families as early as possible.
Weather Guidelines
- Dress Appropriately: Players and coaches should wear layers, including base layers, to stay warm. Gloves, hats, and weather-resistant jackets are recommended.
- Field Conditions: If fields are wet but safe, games and practices will continue as scheduled. Cleats are recommended for traction on wet grass or turf.
- Communication: Stay updated via email alerts regarding game-day decisions. We will notify families as early as possible for any cancellations or delays.
Playing Through Rain
- Rain Policy: Games and practices will typically proceed in light to moderate rain unless the field becomes unsafe.
- Field Safety Checks: Coaches and referees will assess field conditions for mud, standing water, or slippery surfaces before the game.
- Gear for Rain: Encourage players to bring waterproof bags for storing jerseys, flags, and other equipment. Rain ponchos or waterproof jackets are ideal for sidelines.
Extreme Weather: Thunder and Lightning
- Lightning Policy:
- Play will be immediately suspended at the sight of lightning or the sound of thunder.
- All participants must move to a safe, enclosed shelter (e.g., vehicles) and remain there for 30 minutes after the last lightning or thunder occurrence.
- Resuming Play: The game or practice will only resume if no lightning or thunder is observed for 30 minutes. Otherwise, the session may be canceled or rescheduled.
- Coaching Role: Coaches must ensure all players leave the field promptly and remain in a safe area until the all-clear is given.
Parent and Coach Reminders
- Stay Prepared: Bring extra towels, dry clothes, and warm blankets for players after rainy games.
- Health Considerations: Watch for signs of hypothermia or cold-related illnesses, especially for younger children.
- Cancellations: Safety is our priority. Extreme weather conditions, including severe storms or freezing temperatures, may result in game cancellations. Decisions will be communicated as quickly as possible.
COST
What is the service fee?
A $3 service fee from our payment processor applies to each transaction and is non refundable even during a refund or cancellation
Are there discounts available?
Yes!
- Sibling Discount: $25 off each additional sibling.
- Head Coach Discount: $99 credit.
- Assistant Coach Discount: $50 credit.
Can I pay in installments?
No, all fees must be paid in full at the time of registration.
What is included with registration?
Registration includes:
- NFL FLAG reversible jersey
- Shorts
- Mouthguard
- Flag belt
Are there additional items available for purchase?
Yes! Optional items include:
- NFL Flag performance socks
- Youth football gloves
- NFL Flag headbands
- NFL Flag footballs
COACHES
Who can coach?
Any parent, guardian, or family member can sign up to coach a team in any division.
How do I sign up to coach?
You can select the Head Coach or Assistant Coach option during your child’s registration. Discounts are applied automatically or via a provided code.
Are there any requirements to coach?
All coaches must pass a background check, which is covered by the league, concussion test and training guide review. Coaches must know all codes of conduct, rules and player safety.
Do coaches get discounts?
Yes! Head Coaches receive a $99 credit, and Assistant Coaches receive a $50 credit toward registration.
What support do coaches receive?
We provide training guide, practice plans, rulebooks, and ongoing support to ensure every coach feels prepared and confident.
EQUIPMENT
What equipment is required?
Players must wear a jersey, mouthguard and shorts or pants without pockets. Molded cleats are recommended but not required.
Can I purchase additional gear?
Yes, additional items like socks, gloves, and headbands are available for purchase during registration.
Will returning players need a new jersey?
Yes, NFL FLAG requires all participants to purchase a new jersey each season.
MISCELLANEOUS
Are food or drinks provided on game days?
No, players should bring their own water or sports drinks to stay hydrated.
How do I apply for a scholarship?
Families can apply for scholarships through our Youth Scholarship Program. Details and application forms are available on our website.
Is the league non-contact?
Yes, flag football is a non-contact sport. However, incidental contact may occur during play. Intentional or unsafe contact is not tolerated and may result in penalties or suspension.
Can quarterbacks run the ball?
No, quarterbacks are not allowed to run the ball in NFL FLAG games. Players must receive a handoff in order to run. Please consult the rulebook for run zone policy
Can defenses blitz?
Yes, but only in older divisions. Blitzers must start 7 yards from the line of scrimmage and follow specific rules.
